Pamela Viggiani is a mixed-media artist and art educator living in Canandaigua, NY. A native of the Finger Lakes region, Pamela received a BS and MS from Nazareth College of Rochester. She began teaching art in 1986 and continues to foster enthusiasm and creativity in her students to this day. Annually, her works can be seen in the member exhibitions at both the Rochester Contemporary Art Center and Mill Art Center and Gallery. In 2023, Pamela had her first solo exhibition in The Stairwell Gallery at Main Street Arts. Most recently, her work, "Don't Look Up", won the 2024 Geminga contest from "Sunspot Literary Journal".

  • The Space

In a converted fruit cellar, Pamela produces abstract visual interpretations of particular ideas or concepts in order to explore the relationship between word and meaning.  Pamela’s small works are often manifestations of ambiguity, allowing for varied reactions to each piece of artwork.  Some works, however, reflect the world back to the viewer with more clarity, revealing hidden realities and challenging entrenched ways of thinking.  With each piece, the objective is to create a profound visual statement within the scope of a small two-dimensional surface.
